We’ve had so much fun this year with StyleDementia. Sharing our finds and stories and struggles and joy with you has been an amazing experience. But because we’re both also working on other projects, we don’t have quite the energy it takes right now to devote ourselves 100% (and believe us, describing our makeup counter grudges and dental woes and inappropriate style crushes and strange food fixations takes time!). We wouldn’t want to give you anything less than our best.
So we’ve decided to take a break for a little while. We hope to be back in the near future and will keep you posted when that time comes. In the meantime, thanks to all of you for taking this ride with us. Keep piling on the jewelry and proudly sporting your overalls. We’ll see you soon! ♥
I know Cynthia is crazy for Pamela Love’s jewelry, but I can’t get enough of the way she puts herself together. Every time I see a picture of her, I want to steal her outfit. Don’t get me wrong, her jewelry is pretty great too, but right now, all I want is to live in Pamela Love’s closet.
Right on the corner of the block where I live is the sweetest gift shop owned and operated by a most lovely colorful girl named Emi. It’s a tiny little box filled with treasures and collectables and kitschy fun gifts called Pygmy Hippo.
The week after Labor Day always feels like the first week of fall (even if the temperature’s still in the 90s). Time to put away summer’s bright reds and pinks and whites, and move into the darker, moodier shades of autumn. For now, while I’m still sweating, I’ll wear lightweight plums and burgundies, bringing in heavier textures as the the month goes on. First step: a richer nail polish, like Chanel’s Chataigne.
I love the ease of dressing in simple clothes that don’t require a lot of thought or creativity. I mean, that can be fun too, but when you’ve got a lot on your mind, having the perfect stand alone piece to slip on that looks amazing and sleek and effortless is such a treat. Which is how I feel about Black Crane, designed by Momoko Suzuki and her husband Alexander Yamaguchi. Perfectly laid back and minimalist. Above is the long quilt dress which has my favorite detail, unfinished edges. It a little reminds me of Margiela, but way more affordable. Below are some more of their amazing creations.
Seriously, I can’t. I love plaid for fall.
Totally interesting design and affordable as well! J.O.A front tie check wrap skirt.
Such pretty colors! The Great long undone blazer.
With an all black outfit these would look adorable. Ray Ban plaid frame sunglasses.
The must have plaid scarf. This one by A. OK.
Plaid pants are my fave. Each X Other plaid wool pants.
This is what I ended up wearing to “seduce” my orthodontist.
Oak back vent tee (although mine is black and I did wear a cami underneath.)
And my favorite American Rag shoes which are no longer available.
I put on a little Nars Damage and set out to work some magic. And hey guess what. Totally didn’t work. Though he did compliment my lips and my chin of all things. So there’s that.
